Carlos Henckes Collection

Carlos was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on July 30, 1970. He started collecting in 1999 and already has more than 2,000 species of all kinds of shells, although Conidae and Xenophoridae are his preferred families. His shells are neatly kept in drawers with individual labels in white font on a black background—it looks very nice! He uses half-plastic boxes for smaller shells in drawers lined with black felt. He was a former president of our local shell club, Conquiliologistas do Brasil, and served as Femorale's webmaster and photographer until the closure of our Brazilian branch in 2006.
